Elounda Crete Toad Hall house studios and apartments Elounda Crete 4 rent with views over the bay of Mirabello and the Venetian Salt Pans at the causeway in Elounda are fantastic! The famous island of Spinalonga is a short hop away. The short boat ride can be taken from Elounda village itself or by a short drive to Plaka. Take a trip on the ‘happy train’, trundling up and down to Plaka. Plaka, approx 4 kilometers from Elounda village is well worth a visit, an extremely attractive little fishing village with some very nice tavernas, a wonderful place to have a quiet drink with friends! Aghios Nikolaos is approximately 15 minutes away. More local information Heraklion Airport about three quarters of an hour. Transfer by taxi can be arrange if required. Or arrange to pick your hire car up when you arrive at Heraklion airport. The rooms in the studio aparments are very large with a couch, overlooking the bay and mountains, all rooms have a fantastic sea view and a fully fitted kitchen with microwave and electric hob, 5* luxury accommodation.. The studios are almost new and luxuriously furnished. Situated above some of the most famous 5* star hotel sin Greece, it enjoys peace and tranquility, apart from a few toad songs going on occasionaly trying to compete with the crickets! Some of the 5* star hotels offer scuba diving plus 5* water sports if you wish to learn scuba diving. You can also find scuba diving in Aghios Nikolaos, not so far to go to dive with Poseidon! The Greek and Cretan Gods and Goddesses There is a launderette in Elounda village, many shops for Greek souvenirs, a superb craft shop creating authentic Greek Icons in the centre of Elounda village, there are many restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets and most hotels have excellent restaurants and bars for your enjoyment.

For touring Crete, we would recommend a trip to Chania (Xania). Chania is west of the island and a long drive, there is lovely accommodation in hotels directly overlooking the old harbour in Chania from where you can’t miss the opportunity to visit the Venetian quarters of Rethymnon (Rethymno). There is plenty available accommodation in hotels, rent rooms studios and apartments in Rethymnon.

You can get a direct flight from the UK to Heraklion airport during the summer months, if you are flying into Heraklion airport, we can arrange pick up for you to escort you from the airport to Elounda village and to Toad Hall studios, some of you may wish to take an extended holiday in your new holiday home in the mild Cretan winter months. The climate is extremely mild here due to Crete’s southerly position! Crete is the most southerly islands of all the Greek islands! Unfortunately, at the moment, the flights are not direct and are via Athens. (Although some airlines are offering direct flights from Heathrow airport to Heraklion airport during the winter months.)

The plane from Athens is approximately one hour with many flights each day.
